The lecture will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worasan Buranakarn, an expert in
Philosophy from the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University.

The lecture will be host at William Warren Library, Henry B. Thompson Building

Those who are interested are
welcome to join and admission is free.

The lecture “Feng Shui and scientific principles” will present contents from
research, survey, and investigation into the origins and types of practices of
ancient Chinese Feng Shui.  This will be compared to similar kind of practice in
Thailand.

This talk will focus on an analysis of traditional knowledge as well as on essential
scientific principles of ancient Chinese Feng Shui.  The presentation will suggest
how to find alternatives to adapt, improve and evolve on the ideas taken from the
old Chinese traditions. The conclusion from this research will later be applied to
rearrange the physical environment that correlates to influential factors based on
the indigenous background of Thailand.

This lecture is a part of the exhibition Golden Dragon Hidden Monkey, which explores
the relationship and influence of Astrology on everyday life. The exhibition will be
on display at The Jim Thompson Art Center until February 28, 2010.
