The Thai Textile Society is arranging a special visit to view rural textile collections. We shall visit a Tai Yuan village in Saraburi Province to see Ajarn Songchai Vannakul's collection as well as local textile production. We'll stop for lunch at Bua Luang restaurant in Lopburi and proceed to Ban Mee District (35 km away) to see the Tai Puan textiles at the Tai Puan Museum at Ban Sai, guided by Ajarn Sopmkid Jumthong. Both the Tai Yuan and Tai Puan have lived in Thailand for the past 200 years having come here from Laos.
Time permitting we'll visit Wat Choeng Tha Museum (near the Lopburi National Museum) to see its modest collection of textiles. This trip has been coordinated by Ajarn Phutorn Bhumaton of Lopburi who will accompany us.
