The Thai Textile Society is pleased to announce the forthcoming study trip to Chiang Mai to view rare and exquisite Tai textiles at
The Bank of Thailand Museum and the private museum of Chao Dara Rasmi, Princess Consort of King Rama V.   Participants will also have the opportunity to view the private collections of Keosiri Everingham, Acharn Songsak Prangwatanakun, Akadet Nagbanlang and Anchalee Sripasang.
 
The trip will include visits to the Chiang Mai National Museum, a weaving school and major temples in Chiang Mai.



NEW Participants will have to arrange their own airline tickets to Chiang Mai and return.    Deadline for Arrangements of airfare by the TTS has now past.

Price is on a Twin-sharing basis, add an additional Baht 2,000 for single room supplement

The contribution covers; land transportation, accommodation, meals (with coffee, tea and water) and entrance fees.

6.30     Meet at Suvanabhumi Airport, Nok Air Counter

7.15     Depart on Nok Air flight DD 8352 for Chiang Mai

8.25     Arrive Chiang Mai

            Visit Weaving School (Suepsan Phum Panya Lanna)

            Visit Wat Chet Yot

12.30   Lunch at local restaurant
 
14.00   Visit the Bank of Thailand Museum

            Visit the private museum of Chao Dara Rasmi
 
17.30   Check in at Furama Hotel
 
19.00   Dinner at local restaurant
 
            Overnight at Furama Hotel

8.30     After breakfast at hotel, depart for Wat Phra Singh.

            Visit the ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam built by King Mangrai along the Ping River, and Wat Chedi Liam.
 
            Visit  with  Acharn Songsak Prangwatanakun to view his collection of Tai Lue textiles

            Visit with Anchalee Sripasang  and view the collection of northern Tai Yuan textiles
 
12.00   Lunch at local restaurant

13.00   Depart for Srisanphanmai Gallery for viewing  the collection of shoulder cloths, Tai Lue textiles from Laos and Shaman jackets
 
14.00   Depart for Lamphun

            Visit the Hariphunchai National Museum at Lamphun and

            Wat Chama Thevi.
 
18.00   Visit Wuali Street (walking street on Saturday), Center of silversmiths in Chiang Mai
 
19.30   Dinner at local restaurant

            Overnight at Furama Hotel

             See the mural painting at the 800-year old Wat Umong.

13.30   Visit the rare Laos textiles and banners in the collection of  Keowsiri Everingham and old Lanna and Burmese Luntaya-Acheik  

             (horizontal wave patterns using over 100 shuttles in interlocking tapestry weave) textiles in the collection of Akadet Nakabalung.

16.30   Depart for Chiang Mai Airport
 
17.40   Depart for Bangkok on Nok Air DD8369
