JOURNEY INTO INDIA on a special study program led by textile scholar, Yoshiko I. Wada, who considers this inspiring country her distant home.

India has been a part of Yoshiko's life for over 30 years (she lived in Ahmedabad in the 1980s on an Education & Culture Fellowship and has

continued to regularly spend a few weeks to 3-month residencies ever since).

The reward is in the journey. On this tour, Yoshiko will bring you to some very special locations and introduce you to her friends who are involved

in welfare, community empowerment, textile & fashion design education, and cultural sustainability projects.

Program highlights: back water in Kerala, hands-on natural dyeing workshop on the tea plantations, organic cotton cultivation, handloom

weaving, khadi, biodynamic and sustainable farming, architecture, local food, local religion, contemporary art and design, hand spinning of wild

silks and Tibetan wool in Himalayan communities and hiking through villages.
