The long awaited Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in the Grand Palace opened on May 9th 2012 of this past month. The museum has an exquisite display of traditional Thai dresses belonging to her Majesty the Queen. The Thai Textile Society has received special permission to visit the restricted area where conservation and restoration of textiles takes place. Participants will have the opportunity to study the eight styles of formal Thai wear for women with the ‘Curator Walk’ through the exhibition hall and the conservation lab.
Khun Wipawee, curator of the Tilleke and Gibbins Textile Museum will lead the Thai Textile Society guests on this exclusive tour.
Meeting time: 12:30 noon
The tour will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Participants name must be on reservation list for this tour,
No one can be admitted without a prior reservation for this Exclusive Tour

Please Dress Respectfully: no sandals (heels covered also),
shorts, slacks, skirts above the knees, sleeveless tops, showing of shoulders, low cut, see-through garments,
gentlemen long trousers and a long sleeve with collar shirt, hats removed inside museum(Dress code Enforced)
Meeting place: The lobby of the museum (near the door).
The museum is located inside the Grand Palace grounds to the right of the main entrance gate. Please be aware of touts (persons working outside the palace area & entrance who tell you the palace is closed) and are ready to mislead visitors.
