Collector's Corner: Collector's Tales - Gathering and Documenting Textiles

Collector: Khun Nim of Prayer Textile Gallery
At 10:30 am
Prayer, 197 Phyathai Road

Khun Nim of the well-established PRAYER, a shop and gallery dedicated to the textiles of Thailand, will share her experiences in collecting textiles throughout her travels. One of the first enterprises in Thailand dedicated to the study, collecting and selling of antique and new ethnic textiles, the shop, started by her mother and aunt, is currently celebrating its 45th year in business.

Khun Nim would like to celebrate this special anniversary by inviting members of the textile society to view her collection and tell us about the pieces on display, along with photographs taken on location at their origin.

Khun Nim specializes in hill tribe and Tai ethnic textiles. She will describe her visits to their villages and tell us how to recognize various pieces.

It is in fact the left hand corner of the Rama I and Phyathai Road intersection (when coming from Central World), almost opposite MBK. If you get lost, please call the shop’s phone number 02-251-7549.
