The Jim Thompson Art Center would like to welcome you to join a fascinating talk entitled "Yantra - the Spirit Cloth of Suvarnabhumi" by collector and textile expert Akadet Nakkabunlung from the Sbun-Nga Textile Museum, Chiang Mai. His lecture will discuss Kru Ba Sri Vichai's Spirit Cloth which he has lent to The James H. W. Thompson Foundation for display in the current exhibition Métissage.
The talk will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 14:00-16:00 hrs. at the William Warren Library, 4th floor the Jim Thompson Art Center Office, and will be in Thai with English translation. (The Art Center's office is located behind the Jim Thompson Thai House's parking area.)

A Yantra is considered to be a type of amulet that protects the owner from negative forces. The talk will focus on a comprehensive collection of Yantra dating back to the 19 th century and will include a detailed slide and multi-vision show of others sacred Yantra textiles.
Akadet Nakkabunlung is a specialist in Southeast Asian textiles and the owner of Sbun-Nga Textile Museum. The Museum's permanent collection consists of hundreds of antique textiles and ornaments from all over the region.
