Spend a fascinating Sunday luncheon learning about oriental carpets at Rainforest House, the home of Mr. David Lyman. An avid collector of carpets and textiles, he has graciously agreed to open his architecturally unique home to the Thai Textile Society Collector’s Corner. Mr. Lyman made his first purchase, a blue and gold Chinese carpet, while still in law school in San Francisco. Since then he has acquired over 300 Persian and Chinese carpets. Guests will have a chance to learn which are his favorites and tour his unusual home. Mr. Lyman’s carpet collection, displayed in his home and office, is rotated periodically. His law firm Tilleke and Gibbins International also houses a comprehensive collection of over sixteen hundred Southeast Asian textiles.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at the Society’s events, Prayer Textile Gallery at Siam Square (02-6581802), and Maya Gallery at Gaysorn Plaza or Siam Paragon.
