Lecture: Caring for Rare Textiles

Ajarn Chiraporn is a specialist in conservation science and is Director of the Conservation Science Division at Thailand’s Fine Arts Department. She has 34 years of experience in the conservation of museum objects.

Ajarn Chiraporn graduated from Chulalongkorn University with a B.S.C. in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Nuclear Technology. She holds certificates of conservation from several overseas institutions.

In addition, Ajarn Chiraporn is a member of the Council of IWCROM (International Center for the Study of Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property). She is also a member of ICOMOS (International Council on Monument and Sites).

Please join the Thai Textile Society as we welcome her to our April 21 program and learn, from her expertise, how we can protect those special pieces in our own textile collections. This promises to be valuable lecture not to be missed.
